You can add a joint owner to eligible accounts directly through online banking using the Joint Owner Invitations feature. This allows you to invite someone to become a joint owner without contacting the bank.
Before you begin
Please keep in mind:
- Joint owners receive the same full access to the selected accounts as the primary account holder.
- Eligible account types include checking, savings, and money market accounts.
- CD, HSA, and IRA accounts are not eligible for this process.
- You can add up to five joint owners to a single account.
- Joint owners can only be added to personal accounts through online banking.
To add a joint owner
- Sign in to online banking.
- Navigate to Self Service.
- Select Joint Owner Invitations.

Click Invite Joint Owner.
Step 1: Choose who you want to add
If the person is already associated with your profile, select them from the list.
If the person is not listed, select Add Someone New
Enter the below details:
- First name
- Last name
- Email address

Phone number
Step 2: Select accounts
Choose the eligible accounts you'd like the joint owner to access.
Only accounts where the person can still be added will appear. If someone is already a joint owner on an account, that account won't be shown for selection.
Step 3: Review and submit
Review the invitation details and selected accounts.
When you're ready, click Add to Accounts
What happens next?
If the person is already in our system:
They are added to the selected accounts immediately, and no invitation email is sent.

An email invitation is sent and the invitee must complete identity verification before being added to the account.

Yes. Pending invitations appear on the Joint Owner Invitations page. You can:
- View invitation status
- See which accounts were included
- Cancel a pending invitation before it is accepted
What if the invitee doesn't pass identity verification?
The invitation status will change to Unable to Add, and email notifications will be sent to both parties.
