This article explains how to enable and manage Push Notifications in Card Controls so you receive real-time alerts about transactions and updates to your card. Push Notifications are only available in the nbkc mobile app and are not sent to desktop devices. Follow the steps below to turn on notifications and customize the alerts you want to receive.
Enable Push Notifications in the Mobile App
- Open the nbkc mobile app.
Go to Self Service → Push Notifications.
Ensure Enable Push Notifications is toggled on.
Enable Notification Types in Card Controls

Select the Card Controls Tile
or go to Self Service → Card Controls.

Tap the Squares icon in the top right corner.

Select Notification Settings.

Select Transactions.

If you have multiple cards, from the drop down select the card you want to update.

You can toggle on all successful transactions or set custom alerts for the transactions you would like to be alerted for.
Current Notification Availability
Please note that while we offer Push Notifications through the mobile app, instant real-time notifications for all debit card transactions are still being developed. We are actively exploring options to implement comprehensive real-time alerts for online, in-store, and ACH transactions to help you track your purchases more effectively.
Troubleshooting Notification Issues
If you're not receiving card transaction alerts:
- Contact our customer service to verify and update your contact information
- Check that your phone number and email address are correctly entered in your profile
- Ensure your communication preferences are properly set up
Responding to Transaction Alerts
When you receive transaction alerts:
- Verify the details such as merchant, amount, and date
- If you recognize the transaction, you can confirm it when prompted
- If you don't recognize the transaction, contact us immediately to investigate potential fraud
- Responding promptly to alerts helps prevent your card from being temporarily restricted
