- For business accounts, this information can be updated over the phone.
- Ensure your account balance is zero. If there's a remaining balance, transfer it to another account a few days before closing as the process may take some time. For accounts with a negative balance, clear the amount.
- Cancel any recurring payments and refrain from making new transactions.
- Dispose of any debit cards and checks linked to your account.
- Download any statements you require for your records since they won't be accessible once the account is closed.
