Opening a Trust Account
At this time nbkc is only able to offer Trust Accounts to customers located in the Kansas City metropolitan area. If you live in the Kansas City area stop by one of our branches to open your Trust Account. Trust accounts cannot be opened entirely online and require an in-person visit.
When opening a Trust Account, you'll need to provide documentation such as a Certificate of Trust or Executed Trust Agreement. Our representatives will guide you through the specific requirements during your visit.
For online branch accounts, nbkc is only able to set a trust as a beneficiary, not as the account name. Once you have your trust documents fully executed, you can contact us to receive a beneficiary form to add your trust as a beneficiary to your online branch account.
Trust accounts can be added to personal online banking. However, since trusts have a different EIN from personal accounts, you may need to create a separate profile for the trust. External transfers are typically allowed for online banking accounts.
