Initiating External Transfers
Needing to transfer funds to or from an account at another Bank or Credit union? Follow the steps below.
Please note: To complete an External Transfer, the external account must be verified. Select the Learn More button below for steps on how to verify your External Account.
-
Log in to online banking using the nbkc Mobile App or visit nbkc.com.
-
Select Transfer & Payments ➡ Transfer Money.
-
Select a From Account and a To Account.
One of the selected accounts will need to be a verified External Account.
-
Set the amount you'd like to transfer. Then choose a one-time transfer or schedule a recurring transfer and set the start date. Add an optional memo about the transfer if you'd like.
-
Select Transfer Funds.
External Transfers scheduled before 4 pm Central Time are processed the same business day unless it's a weekend or a federal holiday.
When will my transferred funds be available?
External transfers usually take 2–3 business days to clear. Until then, the funds may show as pending or in your current balance but won’t be available to spend. Once processed, the funds will move into your available balance.
Common External Transfer Issues
Cancelled Transfers: An external transfer may be canceled if there are insufficient funds in the account. When this occurs, the transfer will be marked as 'CANCELLED' in online banking.
If your transfer is cancelled:
-
Check your account balance
-
Add sufficient funds to cover the transfer amount
-
Reschedule the transfer when funds are available
