When applying for a business account, you’ll first provide details for the business’s beneficial owners as part of the application.
Once your account is approved, you can easily add additional authorized signers by selecting the “Invite Authorized Signers” step in your To Do list. Each person you invite will receive a request to complete their own secure identity verification, ensuring a smooth and safe onboarding experience for everyone.
Who Gets Added and When
During Your Application
You’ll add Beneficial Owners as part of your application. These include:
- Co-founders
- Anyone who owns 25% or more of the business
- Anyone who controls company finances (for example, a CFO)
*When you use the “Add someone else to the account” option during this step, you are adding Beneficial Owners only (not Authorized Signers).
After Your Account Is Approved
You can add Authorized Signers after approval. These are individuals who will have full signing authority on the account.

What happens next depends on how they were set up during your application:
- If marked as an Authorized Signer during the application:
They are automatically included on the account after approval. No additional steps or invitations are required. - If not marked as an Authorized Signer:
You can still invite them after approval. They will need to complete a short application and identity verification before being added.
What the Invitee Will Experience
After you send the invite, the person can access their application in two ways:
- Through the email link you send
- By signing in and viewing their Shared Applications
They will then:
- Verify their phone number using a secure code
- Complete their application (basic personal and address details)
- Go through identity verification to help keep your account secure
Once approved, they are added as an Authorized Signer.
Setting Up Online Banking Access
Your business will have one or more designated admins for online banking. These admins:
- Create usernames and passwords for Authorized Signers
- Manage who has access to the account
Authorized Signers do not set up access on their own—they’ll receive instructions after approval.
Notifications You’ll Receive
We’ll keep both you and your invitees informed along the way:
Invitees will receive emails when:
- They are invited
- Their application is approved
- An invite is canceled
You’ll receive updates when:
- An invitee starts their application
- An invitee is successfully added
- An invite cannot be completed
