Making a Mobile Deposit
The Mobile Deposit feature allows you to deposit checks right from your smartphone or tablet using the nbkc Mobile App.
-
Log in to online banking with the nbkc Mobile App.
-
Select Menu ➡ Deposit Checks.
-
Select the account you wish to deposit into.
-
Enter the amount of the check.
-
Take a photo of the front and back of the physical check. Make sure to write For Mobile Deposit at nbkc bank under the endorsement. A check image on a screen will not be permitted.
-
Select Submit Deposit.
-
The deposit will be submitted for review.
Mobile Deposits are typically available the following business day unless a hold is placed. A hold notice will be mailed and you'll typically receive an email notification in the event a hold is placed. Mobile deposits submitted after 5:00 pm Central Time, on weekends, and on federal holidays will be reviewed the following business day.
Mobile Deposit Limits
Mobile deposit limits vary depending on your individual account. You can view your specific deposit limit by logging into the Mobile App and selecting Deposit Check. Your remaining daily limit will be displayed directly beneath the Amount field. If you need to deposit a check that exceeds your limit, please contact us to request a one-time limit increase.
Mobile Deposit Holds
If you deposit a check using Mobile Deposit on a business day prior to 5pm CST, it will be reviewed on the same business day and will be available in your account the following business day unless a hold is placed. If a hold is placed, it will be available after 5 business days.
Please keep in mind that if you opened your account within the past 30 days, all check deposits are placed on hold for 5 business days. After that, deposits are subject to potential holds depending on a variety of factors including account activity, amount of deposit, compensating funds, etc. You will receive a notification regarding any holds via the email address on file.
Avoiding Duplicate Check Deposits
To prevent duplicate deposits, we recommend:
-
Tracking which checks you've already deposited.
-
Using a consistent deposit method (mobile or in-branch).
-
Marking checks as "DEPOSITED" immediately after depositing.
-
Communicating clearly with anyone who assists with your banking transactions.
Alternative Check Deposit Methods
If you are unable to use the mobile app to deposit your check, you can:

Mail your check to our Ward Parkway Branch at 8320 Ward Parkway, Kansas City, MO 64114.
-
