Setting up Mastercard® Click to Pay
Enroll during checkout
- Shop online at a participating merchant and proceed to the checkout page.
- Look for and select the Click to Pay icon.
- Enter your email address or mobile phone number when prompted. Click to Pay will use this to recognize you.
- If you don't have a profile, you will be given the option to create one. Add your card details and choose to save them for future use.
- A verification code will be sent to your email or phone for confirmation.
- Complete the transaction and your profile will be created automatically.
How to use Click to Pay
- When you shop at a participating online merchant, look for the Click to Pay icon at checkout.
- Your saved Mastercard will appear as a payment option. If you are on a trusted device, you may not need to enter a verification code.
- Choose your card and confirm the purchase to complete your checkout quickly and securely.
Adding your Mastercard to a digital wallet
- To add your Mastercard to a digital wallet, you'll first need to verify your identity.
- This verification typically involves confirming your email address and recent account activity.
- You may need to provide your full 16-digit card number, ZIP code, and verification of recent account activity.
- Depending on your bank's security protocols, you might need to provide additional information.
- Ensure your card is active and properly activated before attempting to add it to a digital wallet.
- If you receive a confirmation about an unexpected wallet addition you don't recognize, contact customer service immediately to investigate.
Troubleshooting digital wallet setup
- Make sure you can correctly answer all security questions during the activation process.
- Ensure you're using a compatible device and mobile wallet app.
- Check that cookies are enabled on your device and not being cleared automatically.
- If you're experiencing issues with verification codes, double-check that you're entering them correctly and follow the specific verification prompts.
- If you fail a security verification or continue to experience issues, contact both your bank and the mobile wallet provider for comprehensive support.
- For Apple Wallet specifically, you may need to use the most current Merchant Category Code (MCC). Contact customer support if you suspect you're using an outdated code.
