Setting up Google Pay is easy. Check out the steps below to set up your nbkc debit card in your Google Wallet.
Important: You must have received and activated your physical nbkc debit card before you can add it to Google Wallet. If you haven't ordered or activated your card yet, please complete that first:
- To ensure your card is properly activated and linked: Confirm you've completed the activation process, verify the card is linked to the correct checking account, make sure the account has an available balance, and allow time for any recent account updates to process in our system.
- If your card is declined during activation: Double-check that you are using the correct phone number on file. Contact customer support to confirm or update your contact information and complete activation.
To add a debit card to Google Wallet, you must open the app, tap the "Add to Wallet" button, and follow the on-screen instructions to enter your card information. The final step is to verify the card with your bank.
On an Android phone:
- Open the Google Wallet app on your phone.
- Tap the Add to Wallet button at the bottom of the screen.
- Select Payment card, then New credit or debit card.
- Either use your camera to scan your card or select Enter details manually to type the information in yourself.
- After confirming your card details, tap Save and continue.
- Once the card is added you will need to verify the card by calling 866-931-0850. The nbkc Banker will verify a few security questions and activate the digital card for you.
Note: Phone verification is required as a security measure to help protect your account. This helps ensure only the account holder can add a card to a digital wallet like Google Pay.
Troubleshooting Card Verification
If you encounter issues when adding your card to Google Wallet, here are some common solutions:
- If your card is blocked during the setup process, this could be due to fraud prevention alerts or security restrictions. Contact us to verify your card's status.
- If you receive a fraud alert, contact us immediately through our official customer service phone number to confirm your card status and resolve any restrictions preventing digital wallet integration. For your security, avoid resolving fraud concerns through chat or email.
- If you're having trouble verifying your card for online and mobile payments, including Google Pay, contact customer support. We can help troubleshoot verification issues and make sure your card is properly set up for online transactions.
- If you're trying to add a new business card and can't complete verification, reach out to customer service using your preferred channel (such as secure chat in online banking or by phone). We'll confirm your information and make sure your card details match our records.
- If you're having trouble activating your card in Google Wallet, first check if the card already shows as active in the app. If not, call our customer support number for help with activation and troubleshooting.
